![]() By the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, I had begun to contemplate retirement since I had not been competing in LAN events due to my injuries. At that time, I had to take a total of 2 years off of college and competitive gaming to recover from my injuries.Įven with all of my physical therapy, I still competed online. Unfortunately, my plans to reach a career in Professional Call of Duty came to a screeching halt due to a horrific car accident in late August 2007. By then I had become a veteran of the franchise and was competing at a high level on the Amateur Circuit with a full intent on reaching the Pro Circuit. I instantly began enlisting in tournaments with my team.īy 2007, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's release turned the competitive Call of Duty scene into an international phenomenon. The game was released on the brand new XBOX 360 console. At that time is when I made my transition into the competitive gaming scene on gaming consoles. ![]() I then began competing in Free-for-All online tournaments for the PC, winning several before the sequel to that game was announced in late 2004.īy 2006, the release of the highly anticipated title "Call of Duty 2" took the gaming industry by storm. Being someone who loved World War II history, the game really appealed to me. I instantly took a liking to the franchise. The debut of the Call of Duty franchise officially began, and I could not have been happier. By 2003, the first-person genre took a revolutionary turn. Before I knew it, I was talking my friends into starting a competitive team. Slowly but surely I began to get better and better. Since I prided myself in getting good grades, I always made it a point to finish my school work before playing. I would secretly play my copy of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six after doing my school work in the evening. My competitive gaming career started in 1998 when I was just 10 years of age. These players very from ages 10 to 25 and include both female and male competitors. Players from all over the world engage in tournaments or competitive matches every day for hours on end.
